Plantsystems have developed automatic monitoring devices which incorporate a rain sensor together with an array of soil moisture sensors to accurately measure changes in soil moisture in response to rain and irrigation. Soil Water Sensing Service

This service provides the irrigation manager with the information to improve the effectiveness of water application.

With the aid of this service managers can measure the quantity of applied water and can see its effect on the soil water reserve in a few hours. They can then adjust the frequency and quantity of applied irrigation to achieve the result they want and avoid over and under application. Crop water use is optimised and crop quality is assured.
